Cops: Does your duty belt cause?
Does your belt cause you a lot of back pain?
I’m only an explorer right now but I have A LOT on my belt. Flash light ring, small flash light holder, radio holder( I do carry a radio from time to time), glove pouch, cuff case with cuffs, gun holster with a blue gun(training gun).
I’ve been having a whole lot of back pain in the area where my belt sits.. What do you guys do for your back pain and what do you do to prevent your belt from making you sore?
I wore my belt all weekend for the past two weekends and hardly sat down.
You don’t know what an explorer is and you are a cop?
Explorers is a branch of the boyscouts but is not affiliated with the boyscouts.
We get uniforms like cops, duty gear like cops, and we learn about law enforcement and learn how to do things. We assist cops on town events, we do community service for places in town and we do ride alongs with police officers, we are required to do 2 a month.
That unfortunately comes with the job. I have chronic back pain. The best thing you can do is try to make sure the equipment is distributed equally across the belt. I also see a Chiropractor to try and minimize the pressure. You should not have much around the back, just handcuffs .. try to keep as much to the sides on your hips as you can. What you don’t absolutely have to have take off. If you only carry a radio sometimes then take the holder off. It takes up room and adds weight.
