how do you make a pvc pipe rod holder?
hey everyone. i want to go out fishing and use more than one pole when im fishing for catfish or carp or other fish of the sort. i want to have a pole holder that i can put in the dirt onshore so that i can use them all simultaneously. i’ve seen people using pvc pipe, but i don’t know how to make one or what size of pipe to get. does anyone have any information about them? please let me know. thanks a lot for looking and helping out!
I’ve used 2″ schedule 80 ABS (black) and PVC (white) with good success in the past.
Just decide how long you want the rod holder (24″-32″ worked for me). Take a radial arm saw, table saw, or sliding compound miter saw and cut a point on one end. It’s kinda hard for me to describe this so that one can visualize it. But I would freehand, watch those fingers, a cut an angle about 100 degrees-around 6″ long and ending in a point.
Then just take a round rasp or half round file and clean up any burrs in the top so the don’t hurt your cork handles.
