Bag Red
Bottle or Bag of red wine? Once opened, which stays good the longest?
I only drink a small glass with dinner 3 or 4 nights a week and find I dont consume the whole bottle before it goes bad. Looking for answers from people with personal experience, not answers based on theoretical knowledge (I can look that up myself).
I should add that I only drink 1/2 cup at a time so there is still some wine left after a week.
Bag keeps best by far. I was in the wine business for a while and had several vintners tell me that if the public would accept it, they’d package all their wines in bag-in-box or screw-cap, plastic-lined bottles. They lose far too much wine to cold shipping conditions(corks shrink in the cold and wine becomes oxidized), improper storage, and the less than airtight seal provided by corks.
